Frequent Questions

Who will be cleaning my home?

An assigned team of trained service professionals will clean your home. Our cleaning staff is grouped into teams based on the size of your home and your specific requirements.  If ongoing service is requested, we strive to send the same team each time.

How will our relationship work?

We know we must earn your trust and approval each time we visit your home. That is why we do not ask you to sign a contract. We depend on open communication and your honest evaluation of our service. We appreciate when you let us know how we can serve you better.

What time will you come to my home?

Our normal workdays are Monday through Friday from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. In most cases, it is possible to give a specific timeframe when we will arrive. We will make every effort to meet your needs for cleanings outside of normal business hours and on the weekends. Simply discuss this with our office to make arrangements.

What do I have to do before the cleaning?

In order for the time we spend in your home to be as efficient as possible, we ask that you pick up clothing, toys, or other household items. This allows us to focus on cleaning the area rather than organizing the items. Help with organizing is a service we can provide, but the standard visit is designed to conduct a thorough cleaning.

How do I pay for the service?

You may pay by cash, check or credit card. Payment is due at the completion of service. If you do not intend to be at home at time of service, you may choose to leave the payment on the kitchen counter. If you choose to pay by credit card, our team members can process the transaction using a credit card reader during the visit. Credit card payments can also be made on our website or we can keep your credit card information on file at the office and charge your card once each cleaning is completed.

What about after hours maid service?

We understand the need to be flexible. You may need maid service in Sunrise, but you work in Miami. Or your house cleaning in Plantation needs to coincide with daycare in Weston. Everyone has a different schedule and we will do our best to accommodate you with after hour maid service if required. Move-in or move-out house cleaning can also be arranged in the evening or on the weekend.

What about holidays or changing a cleaning visit?

If your scheduled cleaning falls on a major holiday, we may contact you to reschedule your service. If you need to change a scheduled cleaning visit, we appreciate a 72-hour notice. When short notice is given, we will do our best to accommodate you.

Do I need to be home when you arrive?

Most of our customers are not home when we clean. Only the professionals who will be cleaning your home will have access to it. To insure added security, all house keys are individually coded and cross-referenced. If you choose not to provide a key and we are unable to access your home for a scheduled cleaning, you may incur a lockout fee.

What is a lockout fee?

If you are not home when we arrive or have forgotten to leave a key, you may be charged a fee.  Please understand that our team members have committed to service your home at the time you requested. If they cannot access your home, they are usually forced to park and wait until the next appointment which may be 3-4 hours away.

Do I need to provide cleaning supplies or equipment?

No. We bring all the equipment and professional cleaning supplies. However, some customers request that we use a specific product or their own vacuum. If that is the case, please let us know that you will be providing the cleaning supplies.

What should I do with my pets during the cleaning?

Way's Cleaning is a very pet friendly company. Please advise us if you have pets and provide any information that would be helpful for us to know. Though not a requirement, many pet owners prefer to remove their pets from the areas we clean in order for us to clean your home more efficiently.  We always welcome your pets to roam freely if they are not bothered with vacuums, etc.

Are you insured in case of an accident?

Yes, we are fully insured for both liabilty and property damage. We always do our best to be gentle with your possessions. If in the rare event that something is damaged, you can feel comfortable in knowing we are fully insured. We will gladly provide proof of insurance. If you are considering another cleaning company as well, be sure to insist on seeing a copy of their insurance for your protection.

Are your rates competitive or negotiable?

We constantly evaluate the market pricing and the costs necessary to provide a true value. We feel that our rates are competitively comparable to other companies in the area. We will always consider your budget and needs to arrive at a true value. Remember that "value" does not mean the lowest price. And the best service isn't necessarily the most expensive. Our premium plant-based products cost an average of 60% more than the products used by budget-driven companies. Additionally, our staff goes through extensive paid training. This means that you receive the very best service using the very best cleaning products. We are experts at cleaning, insured against accidents, and motivated to see your complete satisfaction. Risks of using cheap house cleaning labor

(This is an independent article that was not written by Ways Cleaning, but sheds some light on issues you may need to know. We appreciate those individuals who are attempting to perform house cleaning services on the side or as a second income. But as a professionally trained, licensed and insured house cleaning business, we hope the below references may save you time and money and protect you from certain risks.)

There are many risks associated with the hiring of an unlicensed individual or cleaning subcontractor versus a professional service. Why is it risky to use cheap services or unlicensed contractors? In addition to the potential lack of training, they may be operating illegally. And, thats just the beginning..keep reading.

Think about the protection and confidence you will receive when hiring a professional house cleaning service. We are referring to the quality of the cleaning job, the guarantee, and who is ultimately responsible for any liability or risk when the day is done. Anybody can put out an ad offering house cleaning services for a low price, but there is no way of knowing who or what you'll get unless you are informed.

You are liable if the house cleaner is hurt
If you hire an individual, who are you hiring and letting into your home? An ex-convict? Someone working under the table? This a serious risk to a homeowner, especially if they are hurt on your property. This is because you become their employer. They will not be covered under Labor and Industries, and there is the real possibility that they will sue you for medical costs, damages, and lost income.

You legally become the employer
When you allow an individual into your home and make arrangements for them to perform work, this makes you their employer, which means you are held liable for any injury claims, worker's compensation insurance and unemployment insurance. So, it's important to review your home liability insurance to make sure it covers service people in case of injury. You should also notify your insurer of the relationship.

You are liable for state and federal employment taxes
If you hire an individual and they do not pay employment taxes, you as the legal employer will be held liable for the taxes due to the IRS. Hiring a company that pays all employment taxes and carries insurance coverage will protect you from this mess.

You might not be compensated if something is damaged
Unfortunately, almost all individuals do not have the required liability insurance. So if anything is damaged (and accidents do happen) you will have no easy compensation recourse.

You will not be compensated if something goes missing
Unfortunately, honesty can be lacking in almost every industry. Most professional house cleaning services will have insurance in place to protect both the customer and the business if an employee is guilty of theft. Also, professional cleaning companies have strict background check policies in place to prevent the use of people with criminal backgrounds.

Lawsuits are everywhere
The days of using cheap hired help in and/or around the home are gone. Frivolous lawsuits have changed everything. Of course some people still do hire people under the table. But just search on "Worker Sues Homeowner" and you will see how risky this can be. We all know that today's homeowners are seeking help with home issues do to the time constraints after a 40+ hour work week and other obligations. So the opportunities for home cleaning services has increased dramatically over the past 10+ years. And along with this increased demand has come the independent contractors who are willing to work without licenses or insurance for very cheap rates.

It's always advised that homeowners be interested in the best value, not the cheapest price. Also, consider experience vs. the lack of experience to safely clean and utilize the correct products within your home. There is a difference between "cheap" and "affordable" and it separates a real professional from a local amateur.
